IMPORTANT ITEMS!
- LOCKBOX: The keys are in the lockbox under the porch light. The lockbox code is provided separately.
- HOT WATER: It often takes up to a minute for hot water to reach the kitchen and bathroom taps after turning on the water. Please be patient.
- FIRE EXTINGUISHER: Located under the kitchen sink.
- FLASHLIGHT: Plugged into an outlet to the left of the dish rack.
- WIFI: Use the QR code just to the right here (also on the wall in the Living Room) to be automatically connected to the WIFI. If you cannot use the QR code, the Network is “Bedford” and the password is in the house manual in the AirBnB site/app. WIFI problems? Read the POWER section below.
- CELL SERVICE: Cell service is VERY spotty, so we strongly recommend turning on WIFI calling (a setting on your smartphone).
- HEAT/AC: There are two Nest thermostats: Downstairs (in the Dining Room) and Upstairs (hallway). You can adjust either at any time by turning the dials. Both reset every day at 8am. Fall through Spring, heat comes on if inside temperature falls below 68. Spring through Fall, heat comes on if inside temperature falls below 68 degrees or AC comes on if inside temperature rises above 72 degrees. AC is turned off in the winter.
- RECYCLING IS MANDATORY: Blue recycle bins are in the garage (accessible through a door in the Dining Room). One bin is for glass/plastic and the other is for paper/cardboard. Please rinse any glass/plastic before putting in the bin. THE TOWN MAY ASSESS A FINE FOR NOT SEPARATING RECYCLING (RENTER RESPONSIBILITY).
- POWER:In the event the power goes out the house generator will automatically come on (you might hear its engine which is in a box near the patio). If there is an interruption in the WIFI check the Verizon WIFI modem in the TV room on the lower shelf of the bookcase behind the couch. If you need to reset that for whatever reason (red light?), simply unplug and wait 15 seconds before plugging it back in. It will then cycle through a self-test and hopefully reset.
