FIRE PIT: Wood for the Fire Pit and Fat Wood fire starters are near the Fire Pit. You do NOT need to extinguish the fire when finished. Simply let it burn out naturally. Please put the cover back on the fire pit the next morning when the fire pit is cold. You probably noticed there is an empty water bottle under the cover: That is used so that the fire pit doesn’t fill up with water if it rains when the cover is on. Please put that back in the fire pit when putting the cover back on. Also, please put the covers back on the chairs when you are done with them.
PATIO LIGHT: Operated via Amazon Echo in the Living Room. “Alexa, turn (on/off) the patio lights.” (Spring through Fall only)
PATIO: There are a total of six outdoor chairs under a gray tarp next to a gray storage box, which contains cushions for the chairs and a dust pan/brush (put the cushions away each night or they might be wet the next day!). Two other chairs are under black covers. There is also a folding plastic chair in the laundry room. The outdoor table has two hidden butterfly-style leaf extenders (quick video showing a similar butterfly leaf: https://youtu.be/PJTqBkqawjk ). There are blue outdoor placemats for the table in the kitchen drawer under the microwave. There is one small light fixture next to the step on the walkway out to the patio (switch in the office on the wall next to the desk).
OUTDOORS: The property has some wooded areas that are left natural, as well as the area around the house that is maintained weekly by our grounds keeper, Osvaldo. Osvaldo comes on Friday mornings to mow the lawn, clear leaves off of the patio and put the garbage and recycling out for pick up. We have a pest control service spray (non-toxic) the outdoor areas around the house for mosquitos and ticks once a month, however they do not spray in the “natural” wooded areas. There is typical northeast wildlife in the area, mostly deer, raccoons, foxes, and birds. Please do not leave any food out on the patio overnight and secure any garbage that gets taken out in the bin at the base of the driveway.
BBQ: There is four-burner, propane gas grill for your use on the small patio just outside the Dining Room. Please don’t forget to turn the gas off when you’re finished cooking! You will see another grill (Kamado Joe) there, too, but it is not available and locked. Please don’t attempt to use that one! Thanks.
